YOUR MISSION
Sly Bowler, the captain of a rival team, plans to scupper the chances of Frisby, Hoby and Rotherby Cricket Club in the coming season. He has seeded their ground with the eggs of a pesticide-resistant strain of sheep tick which bites the ankles and infects people with pulmylegitis. Only a secret spray will kill the eggs. Your task is to crack the code to the ingredients of the spray before the eggs hatch. Time is ticking ...so don't delay!
Wreake Valley
The River Wreake meanders down the valley, between gently rising hills on either side, from Melton Mowbray to the River Soar. On its way through rich farmland it passes ancient settlements, many of danish origin, which now form the pretty villages of the Wreake Valley. As you explore their quiet streets you will find thatched cottages, old churches and chapels, welcoming hostelries and all measure of fascinating oddities offering insights into their life and history. This ten mile Trail, as written, is a driving Trail from Thrussington, through Rearsby, along the old turnpike, now the A607, down into Frisby on the Wreake and ending in Hoby. However, as it is a circular route, you can choose where you start and finish. You can also adapt it to use as a cycling Trail, via Brooksby and Rotherby instead of the A607, or you can break it down into segments and take to the footpaths and fields between the villages. Whichever route or method you choose, you will be well rewarded in this beautiful corner of rural Leicestershire.
