  • YOUR CASE

Rumour tells that Terry Dacthill, the famous fossil hunter from Barrow, also unearthed a huge hoard of Roman gold and silver. Not wanting other villagers to share his new found wealth, he secretly transported it abroad. Recently, part of an old map was discovered hidden under the stairs of the house where he once lived. Can you decipher the map by solving the clues? If so you will find where he hid his treasure trove!

    Barrow upon Soar

Barrow is a large vibrant village overlooking the River Soar, offering a fascinating variety of scenery from riverside scenes to old village streets. It is well know for its fossils, collected mostly by William Lee, and has adopted one of them, the Barrow Kipper, as its emblem.

This Trail should take you up to two hours as you wander one and a half miles along the streets and the towpath. It is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs in dry weather, although care is needed on the towpath which may be muddy.

    WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
Really enjoyed it so much so I`m going to buy others in Leics area, a great way of getting to know an area other than skimming the surface, my son has just moved to Barrow upon Soar so I! saw this as a good opportunity to get to know the area and it worked a good circular tour in exactly the time indicated - well done!
