Treasure Trails accredited by the Children’s University

04/07/2011

Treasure Trails accredited as a Children’s University National Learning Destination.

Treasure Trails has been writing and designing outdoor leisure activities for families, children, schools and education centres since 2005 and is now a nationally accredited learning destination for the Children’s University.

The Children's University (CU) is about aspiration and inspiration for 7-14 year olds in voluntary and out of school situations. The CU believes that learning should create excitement; encourage inquisitiveness; explore subjects in breadth and depth; use a variety of learning styles and intelligences; and to utilise both individual and collaborative approaches. CU participants get 'hour credits' for each completed accredited activity; these are recorded in their individual Passport for Learning. To find out more go to www.childrensuniversity.co.uk

Treasure Trails’ mystery themed walking and driving Trails are a great way for children to explore a new or familiar place whilst learning and having fun. The key strength of Treasure Trails is the use of the environment to educate and inspire young people to engage with the world around them. They will learn some local history and develop their leadership, teamwork, navigation and problem solving skills.

Steve Ridd MBE is the Managing Director of Treasure Trails. He says ‘The Children’s University is a great way for young people to try something new and learn in a new environment. We are delighted to be a national partner in the scheme and look forward to rewarding more children for completing our Trails!’

Children's UniversityHave fun discovering your local area this summer with one of over 700 Spy Mission, Murder Mystery and Treasure Hunt themed Trails available all over the UK. The Trails are suitable for ages 6+ and can be enjoyed by the whole family.  Children can submit their answer to the Trail online and can claim one or more Children’s University credits for every correct answer submitted.
