'...you take in all the places of interest and delve deeper into local history than a casual visitor would...an afternoon of fun, with surreptitious education and exercise thrown in.'

BBC Hands on HistoryThe BBC has recognised Treasure Trails’ expertise in the treasure hunt writing business and requested our help with their new Hands on History series which aims to bring Norman history to life.

Young adventurers will be transported back to this grisly, ancient time on a brand new series of FREE mystery adventure Trails around the UK.

Legend has it that a missing piece of the Bayeux Tapestry has been found, with clues to the whereabouts of a hidden golden shield held by William the Conqueror. Children will love finding the answers to the intriguing clues and will become immersed in the history in an exciting, fun and engaging way.

Eric the Norman

Alice Eastleigh and her family tested out the Pembroke Norman Trail and said ‘My children often complain if we suggest going for a walk or doing anything educational at the weekends, but they absolutely loved this! It was really nice just all being together and having some exercise in the fresh air. We saw lots of lovely parts of the town that we would never have noticed otherwise and really learnt more about the history of the place than if we had just read about it.’

Treasure Trails has not only created nearly 500 Trails across the UK but also provides specialist treasure hunt writing services to visitor attractions and organisations and has created four Hands on History Trails in York, Pembroke, Lewes and Castle Acre for the BBC as a fun way to bring Norman history to life.

Steve Ridd MBE started Treasure Trails in 2005 and said ‘We are delighted to be working with the BBC to provide such a fun and unusual way for children and families to experience Norman history. We write Treasure Trails to help people see more and learn more about their local area in a fun and unusual way and this new Trail is a great way to introduce people to the fascinating Norman history that is all around them.’
