Treasure Trails are the experts in devising and creating Trails that will inform, entertain and educate visitors in inspiring ways. Our Trails capture the imagination, often by using game thinking and game mechanics, to interpret a location and engage users with their environment.
We can now develop location-aware apps for smart phones which provide exciting opportunities to create media-rich trails, guides, stories - and of course puzzles, games and treasure hunts - using a mix of audio, video, text and images to immerse the visitor in their location.
Our company has produced outstanding tailor made Trails for major organisations such as The National Trust, the Woodland Trust, The Prince's Trust, the BBC (for the Hands on History project) and many more.
If you would like to discuss how we could provide a bespoke app or paper-based Trail for your attraction or organisation, please contact Stuart Marshall using the contact form on the left.

In the summer of 2011 Treasure Trails Lancashire created a series of six treasure hunts for the Woodland Trust around urban woodland in Runcorn. The Trails were designed to encourage the use of the woods among the local community and culminated in the prize of a golden leaf for the winner.

Treasure Trails Lancashire were commissioned by Mid Pennine Arts to develop an app to provide an interactive journey through the past, present and future of the Weaver's Triangle area in Burnley, one of the finest examples of a Victorian industrial landscape still in existence in the UK. Treasure Trails Lancashire have recently created a walking treasure hunt for Preston City Council to form part of the Preston Guild 2012 celebrations. The Guild Trail explores the places, people and events from Preston’s history that make up a story of Preston rarely told, of the innovative people who have lived there and events that have taken place over the centuries.

The 3rd annual Lancaster Music Festival featured over 100 acts at 30 venues around the historic city of Lancaster over 3 days in October 2011. We were asked to create a Trail which would encourage the fesitval visitors to visit as many of the participating venues as possible over the weekend. We came up with an app containing an interactive music-related game, The Riddle Of The Bands.

Each tailor made Trail is unique in its content and purpose. After a consultation process to determine your exact requirements we will provide a fully costed proposal which will outline:
• a detailed breakdown of the time required to research, design and deliver the Trail
• the proposed format and content of the Trail
• suggested game mechanisms within the Trail, if applicable
• provisional timescales from order to delivery
• delivery options, whether paper-based or via an app
• pricing options and return on investment projections depending on how the completed Trail or app is to be charged to the customer
The examples to the right give you a flavour of some of the projects that Treasure Trails has developed but no two projects are the same and we will deliver a tailor made Trail that is right for you.
Treasure Trails can deliver the whole project from conception of the initial ideas, the research and creation of the content and the creation of the design and artwork for the Trail.
For paper-based Trails we can provide print-ready designs or supply printed copies of the Trails.
If the Trail is to be delivered via an app then we will program it, test it and publish it to the Apple iStore and Android markets.
By managing the whole process we ensure that the project is delivered to specification and in a timely fashion.
