YOUR MISSION
Evil Professor Killjoy thinks that visitors to Morecambe are having far too much fun and is planning to release a canister of anti-laughing gas to wipe the smiles off their faces. And he’s not joking! The canister will be activated by a secret code. Now that would not be a laughing matter, would it? Solve the clues and discover the code to disable the device and you may win a prize!
Morecambe
On this Trail you must find the answers to clues around the coastal town of Morecambe which will help you to work out the code to de-activate the anti-laughing gas canister. You may win a cash prize if you submit the correct answer to the puzzle!
If you're going to do just one Lancashire Treasure Trail (though why would you?) then this is it. It's a cracker! The Trail starts opposite the splendour of the iconic Art Deco Midland Hotel and then winds its way through Morecambe’s streets via the old fishing village of Poulton before finishing along the promenade. One of many highlights of the route is the wonderful statue of Morecambe’s most famous son, Eric Bartholomew, who took the name of his home town as his stage name. Along the length of the Trail is a series of public artwork which reflects the wildlife of the Bay and includes numerous puzzles, jokes and games that will keep kids of all ages further entertained. With truly stunning views across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District mountains, this Trail has it all!
This is a walking Trail of 2.2 miles which should take around 2 hours. It is entirely on level pavements around the town centre and the promenade and is therefore suitable for pushchairs and should also be suitable for wheelchairs. There are numerous pay-and-display car parks along the promenade as well as stretches of free on-street parking.
