  • YOUR CASE

Residents are reeling after the owner of Manchester’s Brollingtons Bitter, known affectionately as Brollies, was found dead floating in a vat of creamy beer. Local police suspect he had already met a bitter end before he entered the mash tun! Baffled as to who would murder such a mild-mannered man they are draughting in assistance to put the killer behind bars. So hop to it, solve the crime and you may win a prize!

    Manchester Medieval Quarter

Manchester Millennium - reaches the parts that our other Manchester Trail could not reach! On this Trail you must find the answers to clues spread around Manchester city centre which will help you to solve the murder of the local brewer found dead in his mash tun, the case of "THE BOD IN T' TUN - THE CRIME OF MANCHESTER”. You may win a cash prize if you submit the correct answer to the puzzle!

Starting in Piccadilly Gardens and ending in St. Ann's Square this Trail passes many of the major attractions that the city centre has to offer including the Cathedral, Urbis (soon to be the new home of the National Museum of Football), Manchester Wheel, Printworks and the gothic splendour of the Town Hall. The area contains a fascinating mix of old and new buildings and public open spaces that reflect the city’s history and recent regeneration. On the way you will pass many places to stop for food, drink and shopping, so why not make a full day of your visit to Manchester and combine the Trail with a visit to some of the city’s many other attractions?

This is a walking Trail of 1.75 miles which should take about 1.5 hours. It is entirely on pavements around the city centre and is therefore suitable for pushchairs. There are a couple of clues at St Ann's Church which are situated on a raised step and so the Trail is not suitable for un-accompanied wheelchair users. A series of steps near the Cathedral can be bypassed via a nearby ramp which is highlighted in the Trail.
