YOUR CASE
Keen bird watcher Bert Twitcher was so excited by sighting a rare black-tailed godwit whilst out on the Ribble Estuary that he failed to notice the receding tide and was left adrift on the mud like a sitting duck. What a duck egg! It looked like his goose was cooked but his fowl luck turned when he spotted a bottle in the mud containing a long lost treasure map. Help him find the treasure and you could feather your own nest and win a prize!
Lytham
On this Trail you must find the answers to clues around the lovely coastal town of leafy Lytham to find the whereabouts of the treasure on Bert’s map. Whilst there is no real treasure to be found you may win a cash prize if you submit the correct answer to the puzzle!
The Trail starts at the historic Windmill on the Green alongside the seafront and then winds its way along the promenade, through Lowther Gardens and then around the town’s flourishing centre and shopping streets. And along the way there are numerous cafes, bistros, pubs and restaurants should you need to stop to refuel. With wonderful views across the Ribble Estuary to the North Wales mountains and abundant wildlife to be seen, this Trail has it all!
This is a walking Trail of 1.8 miles which should take about 1.5 hours. It is mainly on pavements around the town and promenade with one short section on a soft footpath and is therefore suitable for pushchairs and should be okay for wheelchair users.
