Treasure Trails Lancashire was asked to organise and manage an event in Manchester city centre for 40 staff from the Bolton and Rochdale offices of RSM Tenon Group plc, the UK’s 7th largest accounting and business advisory firm. The brief was to provide a team bonding experience for the two offices combining a Treasure Hunt around the city centre with a social event in the evening.
The venue chosen was the superb Gallery Bar at Dukes92 in Castlefield from where the teams set off on a very competitive spy-themed Treasure Hunt that took in many of Manchester’s iconic buildings and explored the city’s Roman origins and commercial history. Along the way the participants undertook additional tasks and collected ‘treasure’ on a scavenger hunt which tested the teams’ initiative and imagination – an exotic range of treasure included an entrance ticket to a ‘gentlemens lounge’, a bottle of cat milk and a bus ticket from Charles de Gaulle Airport – the lengths some people will go to to succeed!
Back at the venue the teams enjoyed an excellent barbecue in the evening sunshine on the Gallery balcony. The evening ended with prizes for the winning team and a complimentary bar which lasted well into the early hours!
Steve Crompton, director of taxation services at the Bolton office, commented “We all really enjoyed the event and thanks again for your efforts. Hopefully we can do something similar next year!”
