Location Based Apps from Treasure Trails

Lancaster Music Festival app

Going to this year's Lancaster Music Festival? Then you'll need the FREE festival iPhone app, developed by Treasure Trails Lancashire, to find out who's on where and when. And to add to your enjoyment, can you solve our interactive game as you visit the festival venues?

About the Festival

The third annual Lancaster Music Festival is a music event running over 3 days from Friday 14th October to Sunday 16th October 2011 featuring over 100 acts at 28 venues around the historic city of Lancaster. Featuring rock, jazz and blues, maritime and choral music and brass bands, the venues include not only pubs and clubs but also the Priory and Maritime Museum.

About the App

The Festival will feature Treasure Trails’ first location-based smart phone app - a Festival guide and interactive game to help visitors make their way around the various participating venues.

Location-based apps

The Riddle of the Bands is an interactive location-based game featuring clues to be solved at each of the Festival venues - the more venues you visit the easier it will be to solve the riddle! The clues are based on features found at or near the venues and will be automatically displayed when you reach a venue. The app also provides a guide to the Festival with a full schedule listing of the bands performing at each venue.

The Festival is a celebration of Lancaster’s vibrant music scene but are you aware of the rich musical history of the city? The game will feature the bands that have played in Lancaster since the late 60s which reads like a who’s who of rock’n’roll - Pink Floyd, Queen, The Who, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Blondie, U2, The Smiths, Van Morrison, Bob Marley and many more all appeared at the University, Simply Red and Eurythmics at The Sugar House and, more recently, Florence and the Machine and Ellie Goulding played it Loud in the Library.

App Development

Treasure Trails Lancashire now develops location-specific phone apps for events, heritage attractions, theatre and arts organisations, towns, cities. Using a mix of audio, video and images we can create interactive trails, guides, stories and of course puzzles, games and treasure hunts that will inform, educate and entertain visitors.
