  • YOUR CASE

Many years ago, when rumours abounded that the Vikings were coming, the Herefordian monks collected up their most precious manuscripts and chalices and hid them in a place that has never been identified. Can you be the ones to unearth it?

    Old Hereford

The Old Hereford Trail starts at Merton Meadow Car Park, by the football ground and is a circular route, taking in parts of the city that are rarely visited, but also crossing Commercial Road which has shops and pubs and briefly entering High Town. If you don't know Hereford, you may prefer to do the Hereford Trail before you do this one! There is also the Hereford East Trail, which takes you out along the riverside and away from the shopping area.

This is a walking Treasure Trail. Regretably, due to a set of steps, it would be very difficult to get a wheelchair round the route, however, light pushchairs should manage OK. The walk will take approximately one and a half hours and is about 1.5 miles.

The parking and the start point are at the same place!
