There are 3 ways in which we interact with schools
Historic and rural Herefordshire is a great county for a school trip as we have a wealth of outdoor activities which are suitable for groups of school children from the UK and from abroad.
If you are considering bringing a group from your school to Herefordshire and want some low cost school trip ideas, then a Treasure Trail around one of the market towns in Herefordshire, following a unique set of clues written to show off the best bits of the town, might be your answer! They are a fun, healthy and educational way to spend a couple of hours and we can work with you to include additional worksheets if required.
Finding new and different fund raising ideas can be hard. We have used Treasure Trails to raise funds by selling tickets to an event which includes the Trail as well as other challenges and refreshments.
We have also written a bespoke Trail for a Primary School in North Herefordshire around the village of Kingsland, which was sold by the PTA to parents for them to use as a summer holiday activity. The head teacher wrote a special message in the Trail “Thank you for taking part in this treasure hunt which will again profit the school financially as well as, I hope, in terms of laughter and fun. Make some exciting discoveries (even up dead-end roads) , make sure that you don’t turn any signs around for when I have a go and don’t get lost – I’m looking forward to seeing you all back at base in September. Happy Hunting.”
Teachers that need help with learning projects can use our experience to create an activity which develops the problem solving, creativity and team work skills of young people.
For example, we can write a Trail around the grounds of your school incorporating the use of compasses as well as maths skills and deduction methods.
We can ensure that the clues written are aligned to elements of the national curriculum and we can also write clues to suit different age groups. We would be delighted to work with you on your fund raising or learning ideas, please just get in touch.
