Romsey Show 2011

19/08/2011

Animal Adventure at the Romsey Show 2011

An extra special animal mania adventure is available this year at the Romsey Show to help families see all the best bits, whilst solving an exciting mystery.

The show ground has become a treasure island and you need to find the correct animal answers to succeed in choosing the right template to draw the winning animal picture!

The animal Treasure Trail is free to enter. Collect your Trail booklet at the Show entrance. Simply solve the mystery by finding all the clues and hand your completed Trail into the Treasure Trails stand at the Show. The prize draw will be held at 5pm on the day of the Show so there’s plenty of time to solve the mystery!

Attractions in the Main Ring include the Blazing Saddles all-girl barrel racing team, the Solent Eagles junior motorcycle display team and the Derby Midshipmen Carnival Band.

Traditional countryside activities are highlighted with displays of falconry, gun dog training, fly fishing and the ever popular parade of hounds, while some of the more unusual animals on the showground include otters, water buffalo, lizards and snakes.

There will also be a new food show, called the Food Zone, featuring lots of fresh ideas, hands-on activities for children and over 70 traders selling their wares. Some of Hampshire’s top chefs will be appearing in the Aga Rangemaster Cookery Demonstration Theatre while the Traditional Bakery Show will explain how to make the perfect loaf.

Then there’s a ferret and polecat display, a vintage tractor parade, a family dog show, demonstrations by the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, an animated woodland chorus orchestra and Musical Ruth – a singing nun on a mobile piano. The list is endless!
