YOUR CASE
Did pint-sized feisty cox Bunty Rowlock-King really sabotage the boat of opposition team Rivertown Rowing Eights? They seem to think so, and so do their supporters. But who amongst them was so angry at Bunty they wanted her dead? And how did they do the wicked deed? Follow our clues to find out who committed the crime, and with which weapon.
Putney Bridge
One of the first bridges built across the Thames, Putney is famous for its role in the annual Boat Race, with teams from Oxford and Cambridge starting just here and finishing at Chiswick, 4 miles upstream. However there is much else that is charming to see on both sides of the bridge, and as you hunt for clues and solve our murder mystery, you'll discover other local treasures. Spot some of the stars of the Putney Sculpture Trail, see the church famous as the meeting place of The Levellers, who were famous early democracy-seekers from Cromwell's time, and hunt for lions as you follow our route which crosses the majestic River Thames twice!
This is an easy circular walking Trail from Putney Bridge Station. Due to a number of steps on either side of the bridges, it is not suitable for wheelchairs and pushchair-users will require some assistance. It can also get muddy along the river near to the boathouses, so suitable footwear is recommended. Some parts of this Trail close at dusk.
There are pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops on the route.
Approximate distance 2 miles. Estimated time to complete 1.5 to 2 hours. Nearest Tube Station: Putney Bridge (District Line) Nearest Railway Station: Putney (10 mins walk) The Trail starts and ends at Putney Bridge Station.
