Hampstead
With its jumble of pretty streets and houses on top of a hill, and with the history and views on the Heath, Hampstead is a really charming area to explore. The Trail starts outside the Royal Free Hospital on Pond Street, and follows a circular route up to Hampstead, via Mount Vernon, through the historic spa district and out to the Heath itself, returning downhill via the bathing ponds.
The Trail is just over two miles and takes about two hours at a leisurely pace.
Please note there are flights of steps on this route and that parts of the Trail on the Heath can be muddy. This makes the Trail rather challenging for people with pushchairs and it is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users.
