  • YOUR CASE

Ruthless bank CEO Rich N. Fuller-Smarme has been found dead in his Canary Wharf penthouse clutching a corner of what looks like an old map. Rumour has it he was obsessed with finding the legendary West Indian treasure of El Loco - but which of his trusted executives could have turned on him to steal the map and claim the pirate hoard? And how did they do it?

    Canary Wharf

Bank Head honcho murdered in treasure map intrigue - Part II of the Wharf Trilogy.

This is one of three* Trails set in and around Canary Wharf, a brilliant mix of modern-day big finance, skyscrapers, art and culture, served scrambled up with London's dockland heritage. The Murder Mystery Trail begins and ends in Canada Place close to One Canada Square, the pyramid-topped landmark of Canary Wharf - and is a fascinating way to explore the history and treasures of the area while solving a puzzle. The route wends its way onto South Quay and as far as Thames Quay where, on certain days** during summer 2011 you may be able to visit one of the tall ships belonging to Jubilee Trust.

It is highly recommended but by no means essential to experience this Trail at a weekend, when the business district is quiet and you can really enjoy exploring at leisure.

The Canary Wharf and South Quay Murder Mystery Trail is easy walking, pushchair-friendly, and contains moderate clues. You are guaranteed to enjoy some real surprises on this Trail and to learn some amazing new things about London.

The Trail starts and ends close to Canary Wharf Underground Station (Jubilee Line), and a short walk from Canary Wharf DLR.

There are bars, cafes, shops, restaurants and public toilets on the route. There are some steps between street levels, but lifts or ramps are also available in each case.

    Approximate distance 2 miles.
    Estimated completion time 1.5 hours.

    * The West India Quay Treasure Hunt Trail 'El Loco's Treasure' is now available and planning for Part III of the Wharf Trilogy is now under way.

** Jubilee Trust's Tall Ships will be docked at Thames Quay 28th July, 24-28th September and 20-21st September 2011. Tours may be arranged. See http://www.jst.org.uk/.
