YOUR CASE
Residents of Winchcombe were shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Roland 'Crusty' Rowles, the Baker, found slumped in his office yesterday. The police are also investigating the theft of his secret pie recipe, which has been passed down from generation to generation in Rowles' family. If you can correctly identify the guilty party and murder weapon you could win a prize!
Winchcombe
A mystery is unfolding in historic Winchcombe where police are investigating the tragic death of 'Crusty' Rowles, the Baker, as well as a suspicious theft. Can you solve the clues and find out who did it and with which weapon? This Trail will take you on a circular walk from the village centre through some of the most scenic and historic parts of Winchcombe including the Jacobean House, Vineyard Street with its quaint cottages, the curiously adorned yet magnificent St. Peter’s Church and out into the grounds of Sudeley Castle where you can take in stunning 360? panoramic views before returning to the town.
This Trail is 2.5 miles long and should take you about 2.5 hours to complete. It is paved and mostly level with a couple of gentle inclines whilst in the town, and includes one section cross-country along marked footpaths around the Castle. Walking footwear is recommended after periods of wet weather and a camera is a must to capture all that Winchcombe has to offer.
