YOUR MISSION
The ecosystem of the Forest of Dean is under serious threat! Potty professor, Daftus Thaycombe, believes that the tranquility of the forest is spoiled by birdsong and has located devices around the forest which will emit high power high frequency sound waves. Only birds will hear the sound but they will be driven far away. Follow the trail, solve the clues and deactivate the devices to save the birds and you could win a cash prize.
Royal Forest of Dean
Can you solve the clues and prevent Professor Daftus Theycombe from upsetting the balance of the ecosystem in the beautiful and tranquil forest? This Trail will take you throughout the wonderfully scenic Royal Forest of Dean, through some of the most picturesque and historical areas of this charming part of Gloucestershire. It includes the market towns of Coleford, Lydney and Cinderford as well as the village of Parkend, a nature reserve and an arboretum.
This is a driving or cycling Spy Mission Trail which, from the start point in Cinderford, is about 28 miles in length. Walking of about 2 miles is necessary to solve the clues; clues cannot be solved from your vehicle. The Trail is on mainly level ground and should take you about 3 hours to complete by car. It is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. For cyclists, please note that the start and finish points are about 3 miles apart.
