Can you weed out the culprit, solve the mystery and maybe even win a share of the reward?
Painswick
A murder has been committed in historic Painswick. Can you solve the clues and find out who did it and with which weapon? This Trail will take you through some of the most scenic and historical areas of this beautiful Cotswold town. Painswick is often referred to as the 'Queen of the Cotswolds' because of its pale grey limestone buildings. These cottages and merchants' houses are a reflection of the town's former prosperity as a cloth manufacturer and many will be seen along the Trail. It also takes in the historic Church of St Mary's with its churchyard, famous yew trees and table tombs as well as the charming Friends' Meeting House.
This Treasure Trail is 1.3 miles long and should take you about 1.5 hours to complete. It is mostly paved, with just one short section on grass. The town is set on the side of a hill so there are a few gentle inclines along the way.
