Cirencester

Cirencester is one of the most fascinating towns of the Cotswolds. It boasts evidence of Roman occupation and equally interesting remains of Medieval life. The Trail takes you from the Market Place through the charming old centre of Cirencester where you will enjoy the most historic and scenic parts of the town before heading for the former Abbey grounds. This makes a delightful place for a picnic before the Trail brings you back to the magnificent parish church.

This Trail is approx. 2 miles long. It is mostly paved and level apart from one short and gentle incline and one stretch towards the end over grass within the Abbey Grounds. The Trail is suitable for light pushchairs.

When parking please bear in mind that there are so many lovely places to distract you, and certainly if you plan to picnic or have a meal, that you will need to allow for extra time on the pay and display meter!

PLEASE NOTE: Spring 2011 - The town hall and parish church is undergoing a huge restoration programme at present. Clue 5 is based on the memorial on the south wall of the church and may seem to have been obscured. However, the entire memorial wall has been replicated in pictures making the clue still possible to solve. Any problems, please contact us direct on 07825 868889.
