YOUR CASE
Archaeologists at the British Museum were dismayed to find their top Roman specialist, Ivor Togaron, had met an unfortunate end in the reference section of the local library. However, clever Ivor had known that he was in danger from treasure hunters intent on stealing his archaeological treasures. He therefore left clues hidden all around Colchester to tell us who was after him. Can you solve the clues before Ivor's treasure is stolen?
Colchester
Did you know that Colchester was the first capital of Roman Britain? Full of amazing history and beautiful scenery, Colchester will amaze you again and again with its hidden gems. As you progress along this circular trail, you will be introduced to a Roman castle and its beautiful grounds. You'll pass along a street of seventeenth century cottages, set next to a sparkling river. Colchester has so much to see and to explore, you'll want to come back again and again!
Unfortunately, this trail is not suitable for wheelchairs, due to a small flight of stairs. Pushchairs may be able to manage it, but we do advise that you take extreme care if you do plan on taking small children, as the Trail passes along the riverbank. This Trail should last around two hours, as it is approximately 2.5 miles long and it will bring you back to your starting point to avoid any possibility of getting lost! Much of it is through the beautiful Castle Park, so why not bring a picnic?
