YOUR CASE
Wealthy adventurer and plant hunter, Amazonia Jones, has died without leaving a will. Friends and relatives in her home village of Wolsingham have instead been left maps of an island she discovered called Antillia. The maps, together with clues Amazonia hid around the village, will lead you to discover the location of Amazonia’s treasure. Can you solve the clues and find where the treasure is hidden?
Wolsingham
This is a treasure hunt Trail through the pretty Weardale town of Wolsingham. The Trail is 2 miles in length and will take you about two hours to complete.
The Trail starts in Demesne Mill Picnic Area and car park. On the Trail you'll explore the town, looking for clues along the way. The Trail also includes riverside walks, country views and exploring an old churchyard.
For refreshments along the route you can choose from a good selection of cafes and pubs in the market place.
There are public toilets on this Trail.
This Trail is dog-friendly and family-friendly. It is accessible for pushchairs with care; there is one short, stepped, downhill section and some rough cobbles to cross. There is a park with play equipment along the route, and you can paddle in the river.
Unfortunately this Trail is not recommended for wheelchair users due to a stepped section and also a rough, cobbled pavement.
