YOUR CASE
Celebrated historian, Pellegrina Parchment, has been found murdered this morning in her Darlington hotel room. Was she bumped-off by a jealous rival, or had she discovered an explosive ancient secret whilst researching for her new book? The police have a list of nineteen suspects, but need your help, as a private detective 'extraordinaire', to solve the clues and discover the murderer. Can you solve this crime?
Darlington Historic Heart
This is a murder mystery walking Trail around the historic heart of Darlington. The route is 1.5 miles, and the Trail will take you around one and a half hours to complete.
This is a fascinating Trail with many surprises on the route. You'll discover secret corners, stories and inspirational people as you explore the old buildings, alleyways and bustling market place.
Darlington has a fascinating heritage as the birthplace of the railways. You can see this heritage reflected in features around the town and in the landmark buildings along the route.
There are lots of opportunities to explore places along the route. Look out for the many independent shops along Skinnergate and in the yards and wynds. The Victorian Market Hall is also well worth a visit, as is a stop at one of the pavement cafe's or historic pubs along the route.
There are public toilets (20p per visit) at the Market Hall near the start and finish of the Trail.
This Trail is suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs.
Combining this Trail with a visit to one of the many Darlington parks makes this a great day out for all the family. The nearest park, only a few minutes walk away, is North Lodge Park. It has a bandstand and play area.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
Thank you so much for a fab two hours, I just fell upon your site after trying to find ways to entertain my daughters and nieces, after their grandma was taken into hospital. We had a great time.
