YOUR MISSION
Merv Tyler and his country-and-western band "The Husky Farmboys" are due to play at the annual Steam Fair. But local band and rivals of the Farmboys, "The Haggard Pack" and their lead singer Jed Haggard have boobytrapped the Farmboys equipment. Our secret agents have been called in by the show organisers to disarm the equipment so that the show can go on! Help our agents solve the clues and you may win a prize.
The Tarrants
Make you way through the beautiful Tarrant villages, starting at the most southerly of eight ‘Tarrants’, Tarrant Crawford, with St Mary's church almost hidden from view. Tarrant Keyneston with its Iron Age Earthworks. Followed by Tarrant Rushton and the remains of a WWII airfield, nearby the now mostly farmstead, Tarrant Rawston. Next you will reach Tarrant Monkton, with its churchyard graves of WW1 German prisoners of war, and Tarrant Launceston. Tarrant Gunville, the most northern Tarrant with its traditional brick and flint cottages, thatched forge, and manor house. Finally back to Tarrant Hinton, which has been slightly spoilt by the busy main road, but probably most famous for the annual Great Dorset Steam Fair.
There are a few steps and grassy areas in and around some of the churches which may make this Spy Trail a little difficult for wheelchair users. This Trail has 15 miles of driving, 2 miles of walking in total and should take about 3 hours.
