Walter Plank, Portland's well known mackerel catcher had turned his fishing boat, The Happy Hooker into a racing yacht, much to the dismay of the snobby Godfrey Scuttlebutt and his yacht owning chums. When Walter's body was found on his 'yacht', Scuttlebutt was the prime suspect, but rumours are afloat that Walter had a murky past. Solve the clues to discover the real murderer and their murder weapon.

    Portland Castle & Sailing Academy

This Trail starts at the fantasic Portland Castle, one of Henry VIII strongholds, now owned by English Heritage. If you have time this castle is well worth a visit. The Trail continues around the Portland area of Underhill, uncluding Castletown, Fortuneswell and Chiswell, along the Promanade with wonderful views of the Chesil Beach. Then along the Beach Road, into the Portland Marina and past the Sailing Academy, which will be used for the sailing events in the 2012 Olympic Games.

This walking murder mystery Trail will take about 4 hours to complete and is about 3.5 miles in length, there are a couple of hills to climb, but this Trail is suitable for both wheelchairs and pushchairs. The Trail can also be cycled although not all the Trail is along designated cycle paths.
