YOUR MISSION
Our Special Agents have been called to Portland. Ben Bilden, an unscrupulous developer wants to excavate, or rather steal some of the Island's valuable Portland Stone. He has set a bomb somewhere in the rocks along the coast to blow off all the top layers of soil and rock so he can get to the good stone below. Help our agents solve the clues to defuse him and his bomb.
The Portland Bill 1 Trail
This Trail has the most spectacular views from Poole Harbour and along the entire length of Chesil Beach. From the Heights Hotel you can see the National Sailing Centre which will be the venue for the 2012 Olympics. The Trail takes you along the coast path, some of which runs close to high unfenced cliff edges, so great care is needed in these spots.
Portland is famous for its limestone which has been valued as a construction material since Roman times. Portland Stone has been used on many famous buildings, Westminster Abbey, London Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, the United Nations Building in New York and most recently London's New Stock Exchange to name just a few.
This Spy Trail starts at the Heights Hotel and ends at Portland Bill. The Portland Bill 2 Treasure Trail goes back to The Heights Hotel but around the other side of the island. The coast path is quite rugged in some parts, which makes it unsuitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. This Trail is not really suitable for young children because of the dangers along the cliff edge. Great care has to be taken along the coast path.
