Many many years ago the Romans inhabited parts of Lulworth, and it rumoured that beautiful Roman artifacts are hidden somewhere around the Cove. Many have heard the mysterious rumours of a ghostly Roman army marching across the hills above the Cove on certain nights of the year. Have they returned for their treasures? Solve the clues to see if you can get to the hiding place first, but beware they may not be just rumours.
Lulworth Cove
The beautiful coastline here is now part of the Jurassic Coast, 95 miles of stunning coastline from East Devon to Dorset, with rock formations which go back 185 million years of the earths history. Lulworth Cove was formed into its horseshoe shape about 10,000 years ago by the amazing power of the sea. A mile away along a footpath from the Cove is the international famous arch of Durdle Door, and nearby is the incredible Fossil Forest, amazing fossils left behind by trees millions of years ago.
This Treasure Trail should take about 2 hours with only about a 1/2 miles of walking. There are a few walks around the Cove but this Trail is quite compact and is just around the Cove itself. Because the Trail takes in part of the coast path it makes it unsuitable for both wheelchairs and pushchairs.
