  • YOUR CASE

On a lovely summer's evening, solicitor C M Forall had sat down to dinner with his wife and teenage children. The next morning he was discovered dead in his bed. Had one of his mistresses, or had his wife and children had enough of his philandering, or had a disgruntled client taken their revenge? Solve the clues and you could win a prize!

    Dorchester, Old Fordington, Gardens

This is a walking Trail in two parts, the first of which will take you to The Parish of Fordington, one of the oldest parts of Dorchester. In St George's church is a tombstone dedicated to a Roman citizen named Carinus, the earliest inhabitant of Dorchester who is known by name. Along the walks towards the second part of this Trail you will see Elizabeth Frink's statues depicting two martyrs facing the Figure of Death. In this part of the Trail there are some slight inclines and the need to negotiate a playfield.

This Murder Mystery Trail takes you to the oldest part of Dorchester, Fordington and the on to the beautiful Borough Gardens, which were originally laid out in about 1895. Look out for the feature fountain, clock tower and bandstand, and if you are visiting with children, there is a large children's play area. When you have solved all the clues why not just relax and unwind with a picnic, or some refreshments from the snack bar, which is close by. This Trail is both suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The Trail should take about 2.5 hours, with a walk of about 1.5 miles.
