YOUR CASE
Writers from all over the country were descending on Dorchester for the annual Dr Blott Book Club Award. Unfortunately there had been no sign of Dr Blott, until his lifeless corpse was found in his hotel room. Had one of the novelists tried to nobble Dr Blott? Solve the clues to discover the murderous penman (or penwoman!) and you could win a prize.
Dorchester Town
Dorchester is famous for Judge Jefferies' Bloody Assizes, he sentenced 282 to death, and deported the six Tolpuddle Martyrs for forming a union. The county town was also the home of Thomas Hardy who used the town as the basis of "The Major of Casterbridge" as well as "Far from the Madding Crowd," "Jude the Obscure" and "The Return of the Native."
This is a walking Murder Mystery Trail. The Trail leads you around Dorset's County Town. There is one fairly steep hill, with the rest of the Trail fairly even. The Trail is 1 mile and takes approximately 2 hours. There is a clue in the grounds of The Roman Town House, and some steps to negotiate. The Trail is therefore suitable for pushchairs but regrettably not for wheelchairs.
