YOUR QUEST

Captain Wolf, the notorious ruthless pirate, has just returned to his Charmouth home after wrecking another ship on the Spanish Main. Wolf and his crew with their plunder of sea chests spilling over with pieces of eight, diamonds and gems, have just reached their secret location to celebrate with a night of drinking and gambling. Solve the clues to discover the secret hideaway, no pieces of eight to win, but a cash prize if you are lucky!

Charmouth and Chideock

This is a two part Trail, which starts in the village Chideock, one of the most picturesque valleys in this part of the country. Chideock has its own access to the Jurassic Coast via Seatown. Two miles away from Chideock is the Golden Cap, the highest point along the entire English south coast at 191-metre at the summit above sea-level. The great hill that looms between Lyme Regis and Bridport is attached to a flattish plateau that offers a fantastic level walk with heavenly views.

The Golden Cap is owned by the National Trust and is one of the most highly protected places in the region being a key point of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. A walk to the Golden Cap is well worth the effort if you have the time.

The second part of this Treasure Trail takes you to the delightful village of Charmouth, just is a short drive from Chideock. Charmouth itself is quite unique, in that it was a planned medieval community dating back to the late 13th century. There is also evidence of Neolithic and Bronze Age settlement in the area, and also later the Iron Age people, the Durotriges. Later in time Jane Austin's first impression of the village - "Charmouth, with its high grounds and extensive sweeps of the country, and still more, its sweet retired bay, backed with dark cliffs, where fragments of low rock among the sands make it the happiest spot for watching the flow of the tide." This Trail will take about 2.5 hours, with 2 miles of driving and 2 miles of walking. The trail has some very steep slopes which makes it unsuitable for wheelchairs.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
Charmouth & Chideock
The Chideock bit was a bit difficult. The Charmouth clues were really good and provided hours of fun for adults and 8-10 year
