YOUR CASE
In 1806, Captain John Henry Tilte set sail from Topsham in the fabled sailing ship, the Salty Seadog, laden with treasure and bound for adventure on the high seas. Not far from port, misfortune fell and the Salty Seadog was attacked by pirates who took the treasure ashore. Locals have uncovered a map depicting a group of newly discovered islands off the shore of South Devon. Could this be where the stolen cargo is buried?
Topsham
Topsham is a picturesque and historic port, nestling on the confluence of the rivers Clyst and Exe. Proud of its rich maritime history, Topsham is still a very strong and vibrant community, with a wealth of cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops, all providing a friendly welcome for visitors. Many dwelling-houses and shop buildings date from the 17th Century including the attractive Dutch style houses along the Strand, built by Dutch merchants, which have left Topsham with a unique architectural legacy. The trail takes you through the town as well as along the river, which is renowned for its variety of fascinating birds and wildlife.
This is a Treasure Hunt Trail. The trail is approximately 2 miles long and takes around 2 hours. The trail is set along roads and pavements and is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchair users. There is a short stretch along a cobbled path. The Trail starts at Topsham Train Station.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
"We did the Topsham treasure trail today as a family. Brilliant fun, we all enjoyed it. Although we only live 10 minutes away we saw parts of Topsham we didn't know existed, it really made us look around but at the same time appreciate the surroundings. Our ages ranged from 7 up to 50 and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be doing another one soon. Thank you."
