YOUR QUEST
Sandie Beech had been rummaging through her late grandfather's old trunk, when she discovered that the old man had spent the last few years searching for a hidden hoard of treasure and ancient artefacts, left by his pirate ancestors. Sandie became curious, especially when she came across a rather tatty old map which indicated that her grandfather was close to finding the fortune. Can you help Sandie in her quest?
The Exmouth Waterfront Trail
The popular seaside holiday resort of Exmouth is renowned for its two miles of sandy beaches and is a great place to explore by both adults and young alike. The town is the gateway to the Jurassic Coast, the first natural World Heritage Site in England, which covers 95 miles of coastline from Orcombe Point in Exmouth to Swanage in Dorset.
This trail combines a walk through the pedestrianised town centre with a huge range of shops and cafes, through beautiful parks, along soaring cliff tops with spectacular coastal views, finishing with a stroll along the seafront to the mouth of the River Exe, with its fascinating bird sanctuary and stunning views across the Exe Estuary.
This is a walking Treasure Hunt Trail that will take around 3 hours and is approx 4.5 miles long. It starts at the Bus and Rail Station in Exmouth and takes you through the Gardens, along the cliff tops & seafront. The trail is suitable for pushchairs but is not advisable for wheelchair users due to the steep downhill gradient in places.
