  • YOUR CASE

Admiral of the Fleet, Sir Ivor Bigship, has uncovered a tatty old map in the archives of the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth. Rumour has it the map contains the secret whereabouts of a vast haul of guns and ammunition captured by Sir Bigship’s ancestors during the Battle of the Little Bigguns off the South Devon Coast in 1763. Can you help Sir Ivor work out the location of the Maritime Military Munitions?

    Dartmouth and Kingswear

The delightful town of Dartmouth is located along the River Dart estuary in the beautiful South Hams area of Devon. Ever popular for its maritime activities, Dartmouth is also home to the Britannia Royal Naval College, which has trained Royal Naval officers for many years. Set amongst rolling hills and picturesque creeks, Dartmouth has a nautical charm all of its own, with its fascinating maritime history reflected in the buildings and architecture. Famous for the annual Dartmouth Royal Regatta in August, the town also has a wide variety of restaurants and shops selling local produce, providing an endless array of treats for food lovers everywhere!

This circular Treasure Hunt walking trail is about 2 1/2 miles long and will take you around 2 1/2 hours to complete. It involves a ferry ride over to Kingswear on the Higher Ferry with the return journey via the Lower Ferry. Single foot passenger ferry fares are payable on each journey.

The Trail can also be purchased as a booklet from the Dartmouth Tourist Information Centre, which is located at the start of the Trail and is near the Park and Ride drop off point by the Inner Harbour.
