YOUR MISSION

Rumour has it that the notorious environmental terrorist, Dr Badden-Madd is planning to use Meldon Quarry to test out his latest Bio-Bomb. If he succeeds, irreversible damage and destruction will be caused to this rugged and beautiful area of Dartmoor. Can you jump on your bike, solve the code to deactivate the bomb and save this unspoilt landscape for future generations to enjoy?

Dartmoor Granite Way

The Granite Way follows the line of the former Southern railway, from Okehampton towards Lydford, via Meldon Quarry and Lake Viaduct. It combines spectacular views of rural Devon, with the ruggedness of Dartmoor, and provides a glimpse into industrial life on the moor through the ages. At one point, you can even see Exmoor in the far distance!

This is a Spy Mission Trail which can be completed on foot or by bicycle. It is also suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. The trail starts at Okehampton Train Station and takes you along the Granite Way Cycle Path towards Lydford on the Western edge of Dartmoor. The trail is six miles one way and takes around 3 hours to complete. It is set entirely on designated cycle routes or cycle paths, which are level, even and well-maintained. There is a small section on a narrow unmade path.
