YOUR CASE
American Evangelist, Reverend Hal E. Luya, has met his maker prematurely. His body has been found wearing his trademark rhinestone encrusted cowboy boots. Hal was tipped to become the next Bishop of Exeter after discovering his ancestors hailed from Bishopsteignton. His sermons were often loud, outlandish and sometimes mildly risque, but who could have taken offence to the point of murder? Unless it was a jealous rival.........
Bishopsteignton
The delightful village of Bishopsteignton nestles on the side of the River Teign Valley, close to the South Devon seaside town of Teignmouth. Unusually, the village can boast of having its own vineyard and its own brewery, as well as the remnants of the Bishop's Palace, which was once inhabited by the first Bishop of Exeter. The village has an intriguing history and it's worth timing your visit to catch the opening times of the Village Museum, housed in the Community Centre.
This circular walking Murder Mystery trail will help you explore the village of Bishopsteignton. It is two miles long and will take around 1 1/2 hours, although you may wish to linger and sample the superb hospitality the village has to offer! It is suitable for pushchair and wheelchair users. The Trail starts at Cockhaven Manor, where free parking is available, apart from on Sundays unless you've pre-booked Sunday lunch.
The Trail booklet is available for purchase from Cockhaven Manor, Old Walls Vineyard Cafe & Gift Shop and Jack's Patch Garden Centre in Bishopsteignton village.
