Mr Laurence Gin, collector of fine arts, has discovered that the miniature busts that he has been collecting have gone missing. The busts, made of Wirksworth marble, are not in the place he thought they should be. Mr L. Gin fears he has 'put them somewhere safe' and now can not remember where that safe place is. He has offered a small reward to anyone that can help solve his mystery, using the following clues.
Wirksworth
This former mining area has also been a principal market town since 1306. The magnificent church of St Mary is thought to have been first established in 653 AD and forms a beautiful backdrop to much of this Trail. However, in addition to the town itself, this Trail takes you into wonderful countryside scenery with some of the most spectacular views of the Derbyshire Dales you are ever likely to see. This, of course, means that some of the route takes you up fairly steep inclines - but the effort is well worth it. In the middle of the Trail is an intriguing area known as The Puzzle Gardens, which is a complex of gillys, alleyways and small cottages dating back to 1700's in some instances.
Due to some of the steep inclines and declines of the terrain around this Trail, it is not advisable to take very young children on this Trail. Also in slippery conditions, please ensure you wear suitable clothing, especially footwear, for such conditions. That having been said, the Trail is approximately 1.5 miles long and will be a very enjoyable hour and a half spent in the open air.
