YOUR MISSION
A crystal with unique powers has been found in one of the caverns around Castleton. But, it has been hidden in a boobytrapped box. In order to disarm the explosive device you will need to discover the secret code or the crystal and the cavern it is hidden in will be destroyed for ever. Can you do it?
Castleton
The most spectacular aspect of Castleton is the surrounding countryside. Peveril Castle overlooks the town and is best described to people that have not seen it before as one of those romantic ruins of an impregnable castle perched high up on sheer cliffs. The town itself is a tumbling, ramshackle affair of quiet streets from a bygone era. You could imagine the people of Castleton going about their daily business a hundred, two hundred years ago - and the town looking and feeling no different today. Castleton has a feeling of quiet isolation about it, set deep in the hills and valleys of the Peak District. Surrounding Castleton are deep, secretive caverns that are just begging to be explored - places that no man has been before!
As well as the numerous pubs, restaurants and tea rooms in Castleton for your refreshments, there is a wonderful, free to enter, visitor centre with a spectacular museum where young children can learn firsthand what it would have been like to go down the mines. Great scenery and picnic sites around the whole area too. depending upon what other activities you partake, the Trail is approximately 2 miles long and should take you approximately 2 hours to complete.
