Navigating The Route
This is a one-way Treasure Hunt along the South West Coast Path, taking explorers from Looe to Polperro as you follow Jago Dyer’s trail of hidden clues.
Expect a moderately challenging coastal walk with steep climbs and descents, uneven and sometimes slippery paths, and sections close to unfenced cliffs and open water. This is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs, and extra care is needed throughout, especially in wet or windy conditions.
Getting There
Millpool Car Park, Looe (PL13 2AF) - Recommended all-day parking before you set off.
Or, Looe Railway Station, with trains from Liskeard, is a short walk from the start.
Make your way to the bridge linking East and West Looe, then head onto Quay Road where your first clue awaits.
Don't forget to plan your return journey back to Looe from Polperro. See bus timetable links above.
Need the Loo?
Even the boldest adventurers need a quick pit stop!
Toilets can be found at:
Looe car park at the start
Near the Coastguard Station (early in the route)
Talland Bay (midway point)
Polperro at the end
Bring Your Furry Sidekicks
Four-legged explorers are welcome on this coastal quest. 🐾 However, due to steep paths, cliffs and uneven terrain, dogs should be kept under close control at all times, especially near exposed edges and livestock areas.
Food & Drink Stops
You’ll have some options, but planning ahead is key!
There are pubs and cafés in Looe at the start, with further opportunities at Talland Bay and Polperro. That said, stretches of the route are quite remote, so it’s a great idea to bring snacks or a picnic to keep your energy up along the way.
