Detective Mystery Trail
The Puzzling Disappearance of the Notorious Historian
The peaceful town of Redruth has been thrown into chaos with the sudden disappearance of renowned local historian, Ruth Scarlett. With no leads and no sign of the culprit, the police have declared it a case of foul play. But what could have driven someone to harm the beloved scholar?
Ruth was on the brink of publishing her life's work - a comprehensive study of the town's history, complete with some scandalous revelations about certain townsfolk. But before she could reveal the secrets, she was found slumped over her writing desk, her final words still unfinished. Rumour has it that a rival antiquarian was planning to publish a book under the pseudonym "Rouge Ruthie". Could this be the motive behind her mysterious disappearance?

Please Note:
This Trail is set along a route that encounters some steep hills, busy roads and short stretches without pavements. Due to the nature of the terrain, the Trail is unfortunately unsuitable for detectives in wheelchairs.
The car park at the start of the Trail is Fair Meadow Pay and Display.
(What3Words: ///latter.amps.regularly.)
Toilets are encountered along the route at Market Way - but their opening hours are sporadic at best... They usually match regular shop opening hours but we don't recommend relying on them! There are also good opportunities to purchase supplies, refreshments and snacks in the town centre.
As a centre of Cornish heritage and mining culture, Redruth plays host to regular events and parades throughout the year. During these times, access to clues will be restricted. Click here to find out the latest events.
