Stop the Plot to Launch a Seagull Based Slingshot!

We've got a 'top secret' mission for you, special agent!

Prepare for an exciting self-guided spy mission through the heart of Penryn, a historic harbour town in Cornwall. Follow our intel as you weave through ancient hidden streets, slinking away from prying enemy eyes at all times.

The fate of all the towns in Cornwall is in jeopardy! A crazed local enemy agent, Fishtin Ann-Copper, has threatened to destabilise the Cornish economy by unleashing a swarm of robotic seagull drones across the Duchy. These drones have been programmed to steal food from people's hands day and night, causing chaos and sending economies into freefall. But we have insider intel that Fishtin plans to launch her swooping plan by activating a device hidden in the clock tower of her lair in the centre of town. We can't let that happen. We need you, our top agent, to solve the sneaky clues, crack the code, and stop the flapping fiend. Good luck!

Treasure Hunt Through Penryn - Historic Harbour Town

Step into the role of a daring treasure seeker as you follow this exciting self-guided Treasure Hunt through the historic and scenic town of Penryn. Your adventure begins at the Penryn Tourist Information Centre, where whispers of enemy activity have surfaced. From there, you'll journey through the town, uncovering sneaky clues hidden in historic buildings, permanent features, and intriguing monuments. But be warned, Fishtin Ann-Copper is always one step ahead, and only the sharpest minds will be able to piece together the clues left behind.

The town is calling… Are YOU ready to save the day and stop the plot to launch a seagull-based slingshot?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Please Note:

This Trail has not been marked as accessible for wheelchair users due to some steep hills, uneven cobbled surfaces and sections with very narrow, or no pavements along the route.

Why not bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that the town centre can be busy, so please keep your dog on a lead throughout the Trail. One Clue, towards the end of the mission is in an area of restricted access for dogs, so you may need a field agent to hold onto their lead while you solve that one.

On street parking can sometimes be found close to the start point of your mission. If this is not available, you can use the Commercial Road Long Stay pay and display car park (TR10 8AQ) which is close to this Trail's start point. Alternatively, Permarin car park (TR10 8BJ) is a short walk away, and although free, space can be limited here, particularly at peak times.

There are some fantastic events in Penryn's calendar, all of which are great times to visit this fascinating and historically rich town. However, you may find that some of the Clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions so please plan ahead before travelling. Of particular note is Penryn Week and; Carnival, with various events held across the town for a week in July.

There are public toilets available close to the end of the Trail, at Clue 19. There are several opportunities for refreshments along the mid section of the Trail where it heads through the town centre and also towards the end as well.

Once you've completed your mission, why not take some downtime and visit the Penryn Town Museum? It's free to enter and open Monday to Friday from 10:00 until 15:30. Or you could just browse the shops in the town centre, take in the scenery and enjoy the view across the Penryn river with an ice cream in hand! (Look out for seagulls).
