  • YOUR CASE

In 1806, Joshua Jacob Trago sailed away from St Mawes, never to be seen again. Last year a local fisherman found an old bottle in the sea. It contained a map showing an island group in the Caribbean that Joshua had discovered. It also contained instructions (see below) on how to find the treasure that Joshua had collected and hidden somewhere on the islands. Can you solve the clues and find the location of the treasure?

    St Mawes

200 years ago, Joshua Jacob Trago sailed away from St Mawes, never to be seen again. He discovered an island and named places on the island after people and places from St Mawes. He became fabulously rich and hid his treasure in one of these locations. Can you solve the clues as you walk around St Mawes to discover where he hid his treasure?

There is so much more to St Mawes than just its beautiful and distinctive harbour. An ancient village with a medieval castle, it is steeped with history. This Trail will take you around the harbour, then the village, finishing up at the castle with the stunning views across to Falmouth.

This is a Treasure Hunt Trail. The trail is 1½ miles long and will take approximately 2 hours.

The Trail is suitable for light pushchairs and wheelchairs.
