YOUR CASE
Triumph has turned to tragedy this week. Only hours before geologist Archibald Anderton-Hope was due to conduct a press conference to reveal the location of the rich new lode of tin he had discovered somewhere in Cornwall, his body was found at his home. Police are asking for the public’s assistance with the investigation. Solve the mystery and you could win a prize!
St Agnes
Situated on Cornwall’s beautiful North Coast, St Agnes is now a popular resort. Its origins, however, lie in tin mining, and many reminders of the town’s past now remain. These include miner’s cottages, mine owner’s houses, the sea captains’ cottages of ‘Stippy Stappy’ and engine houses. The modern St Agnes is a bustling village with many places to stay, eat and shop. Amongst the places recommended to visit in St Agnes are St Agnes Beacon, from which you have a panoramic view of the cliffs from St Ives in the South to Padstow in the North. If your visit to St Agnes coincides with when the St Agnes Parish Museum is open we recommend you visit it, too. Although the Trail itself does not take you to any beaches , Trevaunance Cove is about half a mile or so from the town centre, and well worth a visit. St Agnes is a lovely place; we like to think our Trail does it justice.
This is a Murder Mystery Trail. The Trail is 1½ miles and takes approximately 1½ hours.
This Trail is suitable for light pushchairs, but regrettably not wheelchairs.
