  • YOUR MISSION

The evil Doctor Madden-Badd's latest target is Porthleven. He has activated the 2 harbourside cannons to fire exploding packages containing a highly contagious new virus which gives all infected a fatal aversion to pasties, ice cream and beer. It is rumoured that he might do it on Lifeboat Day. You must save the Cornish economy by discovering the deactivation code before it is too late.

    Porthleven

Porthleven is blessed with a large harbour; the only one of any size between Penzance and the sheltered waters of the Helford Estuary and Carrick Roads. What makes Porthleven unique is that it faces due Southwest. With nothing giving it shelter, it faces 5000 miles of Atlantic Ocean and is therefore exposed to the full fury of Atlantic storms. More than once in recent decades, despite the strength of its defences against the sea, it has suffered substantial damage.

The route of the Trail takes you along Mounts Road, one of several parts of the village battered and drenched by these storms, and skirts the harbour, exploring the small but distinctive village centre, before heading over to the west side of the harbour to pass the old lifeboat house before finishing at a delightful spot along the cliff path.

This Spy Trail is 2 miles long and will take approximately 3 hours to complete. It includes several small flights of steps and a stretch of the cliff path. It is suitable for pushchairs but regrettably not for wheelchairs.
