The Great Porthleven Spy Mission - A Family Adventure Awaits!

Intelligence has reached us that the notorious enemy agency DEVON (Dastardly Evil Villains Of Notoriety) has set its sights on Porthleven, as part of their grand scheme to cripple Cornwall. Their plan? To reactivate the two harbourside cannons and launch packages containing a highly potent gas that will cause all who come into contact with it to have a massive aversion to pasties, ice cream, and beer. If they succeed, the local economy will be in ruins and tourists and residents will flee in droves. We can't let this happen, and we need you - our TOP agents - to unravel the intelligence, solve the clues, and crack the code that will deactivate the cannons. Porthleven and the whole of Cornwall are relying on you, Agents. Good luck!

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Navigating The Route

This is a circular spy mission through Porthleven’s harbour, village streets and along the Coastal Path, with agents following pavements, narrow lanes, cobbled surfaces and cliffside tracks as they gather intel to stop DEVON’s dastardly plot.

The route includes steep hills, cobbled sections, uneven ground and coastal paths, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.

⚠️ Important: You will be travelling along roads (including sections with no pavement), harbour edges and exposed coastal paths, so agents should stay alert at all times, walk in single file where needed and keep younger operatives under close supervision.

Take extra care near the harbour walls and cliff edges, where there are steep drops, and be mindful of waves and strong winds along the seafront.

Getting There

Time to deploy your agents and begin the mission:

By car: Kittos Field Pay & Display Car Park (TR13 9JA) is your undercover base, tucked behind the supermarket near the harbour.

⚠️ Note: This is a popular location, so it’s best to arrive early before rival agents snap up the spaces.

By public transport: Public transport options are limited, so travelling by car is the most practical way to reach the start of your mission.

Your mission begins from Kittos Field Car Park, heading out via the steps behind the coach parking area - so check your surroundings carefully and begin scanning for your first piece of intel.

Need the Loo?

Even elite agents need a quick comfort break!

Toilets can be found after Clue 10 and are signposted from the harbour corner after Clue 11, so it’s worth timing your stop as facilities are not available earlier in the mission.

Bring Your Furry Sidekicks

Four-legged agents are welcome on this mission 🐾

With a mix of village streets, harbour paths and coastal terrain, it’s a great outing for dogs - just keep leads handy near roads, crowds, livestock and especially along the cliff edges.

Food & Drink Stops

Agents, plan your supplies carefully!

The harbour area acts as your main refuel zone, with plenty of cafés and spots to grab provisions before or during your mission.

It’s also a great place to pause for a break before tackling the more exposed Coastal Path section.

Want to Make a Day of It?

Harbour Action and Coastal Drama

Porthleven’s harbour is one of Cornwall’s most atmospheric spots, especially when the waves roll in - a dramatic backdrop for undercover work.

Coastal Path and Big Sea Views

The final stretch along the Coastal Path delivers sweeping views and a proper sense of mission finale… just keep your footing steady as you go.

Maritime History and Hidden Stories

From boatbuilding roots to lifeboat history, Porthleven is packed with seafaring stories - exactly the sort of place where a secret plot might unfold.
