YOUR CASE
Legend has it that Oliver Cromwell's old school books, from his time in Huntingdon, were buried on a deserted island for safe keeping some 400 years ago. Excitement is mounting as a map purporting to show this island has come to light. However, there are a number of clues that need to be solved before the one true location can be found - are you up to the challenge?
Around Huntingdon
Huntingdon is a pretty and peaceful town that sits in the heart of Cambridgeshire alongside the River Great Ouse. Whilst the town is perhaps best known as the birthplace of The Lord Protector of The Commonwealth, a certain Oliver Cromwell, there is nevertheless an abundance of historical buildings and features including a former Norman Castle and a hotel almost 500 years old.
This is walking trail in the Treasure Hunt format. It is approximately 1.8 miles long and you should allow around 2 hours to complete it.
Whilst the majority of the Trail is over good ground there are two sections that may not be suitable for wheelchairs and/or pushchairs - both of these sections are over grassland and one includes a small, but quite steep hill.
