  • YOUR CASE

Centuries ago the wicked Lord Stolealot was travelling through Chalfont St. Peter on his way to London. A group of peasants decided to take back what he had taken from them. They ambushed him and made off with bags of gold. However, being honest folk they only took what they felt due to them. The rest they buried. A map has just been found which may show where that gold could be found!

    Chalfont St Peter

The oldest buildings in Chalfont St Peter are near St Peter's Church and the riverbed of the Misbourne. The Misbourne is a chalk stream and as such may not always be seen. When it does flow it is now only a stream but it once powered local mills.
The shops up the hill towards Goldhill Common were built in the 1920s.
This walk takes you through the town but also around Goldhill Common and some of the footpaths through the more peaceful parts of Chalfont St Peter.
Please be aware that the walk to Goldhill Common is uphill.
Some of the clues are across grass so if it has been raining please be prepared for mud.

Suitable for pushchairs but if it has been raining please be prepared for mud. Please allow 2 hours to complete this Trail which is about 1.75 miles.
